Coronavirus Update: The Scottish Government have now allowed for self catering properties to open at the beginning of July. Due to the unique nature of our location, unfortunately this doesn’t mean that we’ll be open as usual. Travel to the islands is going to be difficult as Calmac have to abide by social distancing rules meaning that the number of people allowed on board will be much reduced. As we understand it, existing bookings with Calmac Ferries will be cancelled and people will have to rebook. There is going to be huge demand for a very limited number of places as islanders are desperate to see their mainland families.
At the cottages, we are currently carrying out risk assessments, ensuring that we can operate in as safe a way as possible and we plan to re-open at the end of July for those with existing bookings. If, after contacting Calmac Ferries, you find you are unable to secure passage, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options.
For those who wish to book a new holiday with us, our Availability Calendar is kept up to date and you will be able to book direct through this website. Deposit payments are non-refundable but we are allowing people to transfer deposits to dates in the future should they find that they are unable to travel. We are also temporarily changing our normal requirement that final payments be paid 28 days before arrival. This will now be 7 days before arrival in case people are required to self isolate or lockdown reoccurs.
For those who have booked through Holiday Lettings, Air BnB and Booking.com and who wish to cancel, they need to contact these booking agents to request cancellations, we are not able to do this on your behalf.
Ullabhal and Clèiseabhal, our adjoining self-catering cottages, are named after two hills in North Harris. Built in the 19th century, they were originally used as village shops before being converted in the early part of this century into self-catering cottages.
Centrally located, for both Harris and Lewis, they are situated on Main Street in Tarbert, the main port of entry to Harris.
The cottages are ideally suited for those looking to holiday in Harris and who want easy access to local amenities including public transport, shops, restaurants and the ferry port. There is also a local car hire company for those without their own transport to explore further afield. Our award-winning beaches, galleries, cafes, tweed shops and stunning walks are all within easy driving distance.
Both cottages sleep two people. Living accommodation is on the 1st floor and consists of an open plan living/dining room with Freesat television and Wi-Fi broadband. Adjoining the dining area is a small well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor. Parking is at the front of the property.
If you are bringing bicycles, please let us know in advance and we can organise safe storage.
The maximum occupancy of each of the cottages is 2 people and pets are not allowed in the properties.
