• Golden Eagle and Chick

We're good to goCoronavirus Update: We opened at the beginning of August and we’ve been relatively busy ever since. Thank you to all those who have visited and to all those who have still to come. It’s been a difficult year for all of us and your support is appreciated.

Before opening we carried out our Risk Assessments and made a few changes to how we normally operate.

  • We re-organised the cottages making them easier to both sanitise and clean.
  • We provided plenty of handsoap and hand sanitiser for our guests to use whilst they are with us.
  • We opted to close the cottages between bookings to allow any aerosols extra time to dissipate.
  • We asked our guests to keep the cottage well-aired and clean.

It’s a much bigger job now but our guests have made it both easier and safer for us.

We are still in uncertain times and we appreciate that people are nervous both about the virus and being placed under lockdown. Instead of requesting your final balance 28 days in advance, we’ve reduced this to 7 days, allowing you more certainty over your travel plans. For those who wish to book a new holiday with us, our Availability Calendar is kept up to date and you are able to book directly through this website.

We hope that the current spike can be brought under control quickly and you feel confident enough to plan a trip away to one of the most beautiful places in Scotland. We look forward to providing you with a safe, comfortable, relaxing stay.

Ullabhal and Clèiseabhal, our adjoining self-catering cottages, are named after two hills in North Harris. Built in the 19th century, they were originally used as village shops before being converted in the early part of this century into self-catering cottages.

Centrally located, for both Harris and Lewis, they are situated on Main Street in Tarbert, the main port of entry to Harris.

The cottages are ideally suited for those looking to holiday in Harris and who want easy access to local amenities including public transport, shops, restaurants and the ferry port. There is also a local car hire company for those without their own transport to explore further afield. Our award-winning beaches, galleries, cafes, tweed shops and stunning walks are all within easy driving distance.

Both cottages sleep two people. Living accommodation is on the 1st floor and consists of an open plan living/dining room with Freesat television and Wi-Fi broadband. Adjoining the dining area is a small well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor. Parking is at the front of the property.

If you are bringing bicycles, please let us know in advance and we can organise safe storage.

The maximum occupancy of each of the cottages is 2 people and pets are not allowed in the properties.
